I can remember being a kid and cruising down the highway in my mom’s car with the windows rolled down, the radio playing Amy Grant or Reba, and my hair blowing freely in the wind. It didn’t matter how hot it was outside……this was just the way things were done….and I loved it!
What in the world was wrong with me?? Haha
Husby needed to make a trip down to Conroe today (which is just north of Houston) to bowl in a tournament. And since my Pathfinder is a much newer vehicle than his 2002 Ford Expedition, we agreed that it would be better for him to make the trip in it. It also happens to be the only vehicle that we have which offers the luxury of air conditioning. Therefore, when I needed to pick up Ryann from her dad this afternoon I was left driving the Expedition. No big deal really, and I definitely don’t want to give the impression that I’m ungrateful by any means. We are very fortunate to have not 2 but 3 vehicles that we can drive. However, 2 of those 3 vehicles are old, have tons of miles, and don’t have A/C. So, they aren’t ideal for driving with 4 kiddos.
Nonetheless, we made it there and back safely. Albeit a little hot and sweaty. And the trip made me realize that my kids don’t really have any idea how lucky we are. Let’s be honest, I probably take for granted how blessed we are to have the “luxury” of air conditioning in our good ole Pathfinder. I’m suddenly feeling a lot more thankful. 😉
Thank you, Lord, for allowing us to live in your blessings.
