So, lately I haven’t been able to cross as many items off my “goals” list weekly as I would like. This bothers me…..a lot.
Am I setting goals that are unrealistic? OR are my goals not matching up with my priorities?
This week I sat down with a printed list of my 2013 Yearly Goals and my September monthly goals and tried to see just where the disconnect was coming from.
It may seem obvious to everyone else….but I realized that when I was sitting down to make my weekly and monthly goals, I wasn’t keeping in mind the goals that I set for myself at the very beginning of this year. And at the beginning of this year I spent a lot of time thinking about my priorities and deciding how I could reach goals that would echo the things most important to me.
A couple of weeks ago, when I realized that I was having a hard time accomplishing my goals, I decided to invest in a more detailed personal planner. For a while, I’ve been relying on my memory to remind me to get things done. Ummmm….no. That is not going to work for me (especially now that I’m starting to experience pregnancy brain).
Since investing in a new planner, I’ve been making a point to write everything down that I think is important. And it’s making a HUGE difference. I love how much more productive I’ve been. But I’m still not getting it all done. Guess I still have some work to do.
So, there’s that. Some personal reflection.
Be well,
Melony
