Oh how happy this picture makes me! Even with temps consistently remaining in the mid-upper 90s I could swear I can feel the chill of fall just around the corner.
Or maybe that’s just wishful thinking. 
Regardless, we are still chugging along here in the Merten household. This past week was quite an exciting one for us.
Probably most exciting of all, Husby got a job!!! He’s been out of work for several months and, as luck would have it, was offered two different positions within the past two weeks. One of the jobs was a management position at a bowling in Plano, but would have meant an hour drive to and from work every day…plus working nights and weekends. The pay was generous, but the hours would have been brutal. The other position was a job 4 miles from home working Monday-Friday 7:30-4:30 making custom cabinetry. It was kind of a no-brainer for us. So, he started work on Tuesday and so far is loving it! This new job has led to lots of changes in our home….but all good ones and we’re super excited to see what the future holds for him there.
In other news, the girls both started piano lessons this past week. They are signed up for the fall semester as of right now. Ryann has expressed an interest in learning how to play guitar, so we will most likely be looking into that option come spring. We aren’t sure about Kamri yet. Guess we will have to wait and see.
None of the kiddos are playing soccer this fall, because I didn’t realize sign-ups took place back in July and so I completely missed out. We will sign all three littles up in the spring though since they enjoyed it so much last year.
On the baby bump front, well……there still isn’t one. Bump, that is. Haha. I’ll be 7 weeks along this week and things are going pretty well. I already get the joy of saying that this pregnancy is giving me lots of new experiences….namely random bouts of nausea during the day, a sense of complete exhaustion that I’ve never felt before in my life. I am going to be interviewing midwives and touring birthing centers within the next month. And we have an appointment for our first ultrasound on 9/16. That’ll be exciting!!!
The next week offers lots more excitement that I can’t wait to share with you as the days go by. In the meantime, be well!
