So, I’m not even going to apologize for my recent absence here on the ole blog.  We’ve been busy doing life, ya know what I’m sayin’?

But I did feel that it might be a good time to post an update in case anyone is genuinely interested and/or following along.  😉

So, today is September 15th and we have officially been in our homeschool year for 5 weeks and 2 days.  I can’t believe that we’ve already been in this phase for almost 6 weeks!!  How in the world does time fly by so quickly?!

Since we’ve last chatted, we’ve had several birthdays in the family. Ryann turned 13 in July and Steve and I both celebrated birthdays in August….no need to mention how old we are this year.  😉

We started our school year on August 10th and so far it has been a great year.  We are planning our first field trip for later this month and the kids are really looking forward to it.  We are either going to be visiting the Dallas Zoo or the Dallas World Aquarium.

Another bit of news, albeit sad, is the passing of our sweet dog Charli on September 5th.  It was a very difficult time for all of us, as it was the first time the kids have experienced any kind of real grief or loss.  We are all doing much better now, but for the first couple of days, there were many tears shed here at home.

So, in April of this year, I decided that I wanted to start up a YouTube channel and use that as the medium for sharing our lives.  This is the primary reason that I no longer update this blog even semi-regularly.  For anyone interested in seeing us on a weekly basis, you can follow this link and check out what we’ve been up to.

I guess that’s about it for now.  We are still here and still going on about our busy lives.  We are all very much looking forward to fall and cooler temperatures.

Thanks for sticking around and for being so patient when I appear to have disappeared off the face of the planet.  😉

Love to all,

Melony 🙂
