{shopping results ~ 7/1/2013}

As promised, I’m here to share my results from yesterday’s grocery outing.  With everything I was able to pick up yesterday added to the $160 we spent last week stocking up on all different kinds of meat, we will be completely set on food for at least the next month….possibly longer.

So, I mentioned that Kroger is having a Mega Event Sale right now.  This is my favorite kind of sale at Kroger!!!  And this sale only comes around a couple of times a year.  I couldn’t wait!  For my internet coupons, I printed the maximum two allowed from my house and then hit up my mom’s house to use her printer as well.  By doing this, I was able to maximize my savings.

Total out of pocket price for sale items (pictured in first two positions) was $150.  Retail value for these exact items was $406.00!!!  The non-mega-event items totaled right at $100.  So, my total spent for everything pictured was $256.00.  But considering that I saved $250 just on the mega event items, I’m pretty pleased.  My total savings for the trip was $265.87.  Hope all of these numbers make sense…..lol.  Bottom line is that for about $420 total, we were able to purchase enough food to feed our family of six for at least the entire month of July and most likely part of August.  Sounds like a good deal to me!  😉
