i’m still here

Life has definitely been crazy for us lately.  But in a good way…..

When we originally starting considering homeschooling as an option for our family, I knew that it would take some adjustments and that we would get it figured out.  And that is exactly what we have been up to.  It took us some time, but we are finally getting there.  The kids are doing better than ever and we are really starting to settle into our routine now.

When friends ask me about homeschooling I find myself saying that same sentence over and over again.  “Our lives are so much less stressful now”.  There is no running around in the morning trying to get everyone dressed and out the door.  No more trying to work homework into our evening routine.  Now my kids come to the breakfast table in their pajamas, we have breakfast together and spend some time waking up before we begin our day.  The kids are able to participate in school activites with each other and the oldest is getting a review of previously learned information while helping the younger kiddo with lessons.  All in all, I would say that we absolutely made the right decision for our family….and I’m so happy!

Other than really focusing on defining our daily routine, we haven’t been up to much as a family.  I’m now participating in a Women’s Bible Study once a week and I love it!  It is such a blessing to be able to spend a couple of hours with my sisters in Christ every week studying God’s word and learning how to apply it to our daily lives.

Husband is working more hours now and is currently up to working 5 nights a week.  We miss him in the evenings when he isn’t here, but we take advantage of our hours during the day that we get to have him with us.

So, that’s our life in a nutshell.  Our happy little nutshell…..
