{weekly recap ~ 6/29-7/5}

Do you ever have weeks that go by so quickly that the next week, you can barely remember what you did?  Well, that’s what last week was like for us.  But here are the highlights…..maybe this way I won’t completely forget the good stuff.

Monday, the two littlest littles and I went to Mommy Playgroup at the church and had a great time hanging out with friends.  This is definitely one of the best parts of our week!  It makes Monday a lot more enjoyable!!  🙂

Getting so big!  :)

Getting so big! 🙂

Tuesday was grocery shopping day and the day that Ryann returned home from church camp.  We were very excited to have her back home and loved hearing stories about how much fun she had while she was away.

This is what 5 days of church camp will get ya!

She’s already looking forward to going again next summer…….and this mommy is glad I have an entire year to save up and send her!  Tuesday evening I went to a free yoga class at church that’s taught by my absolute favorite yoga instructor!  After about a year of not working out at all, it wasn’t an easy class…..but I loved it and plan to make it a regular part of my week (when possible).

Wednesday was a pretty uneventful day for us.  We spent the day at home, which is something we rarely get to do and it was a much needed break.  I was able to catch up on some laundry and housework….I know, exciting!

Thursday evening the kiddos were invited to spend the night at my parent’s house.  They were so happy…..since it’s pretty much their favorite place on earth!  So Steve, Chyler and I spent the evening at home together and enjoyed a really yummy dinner of steak and baked potatoes.  As a side note, I find it almost comical what constitutes a “fun” night for me now that I’m almost 35.  There’s no way that a quiet evening at home would have been my first choice 15 years ago.  Haha!!  I’m finally growing up.  🙂

Friday was the 4th of July and we had plans to spend the evening hanging out with friends.  So, I got up early and went to one of my least favorite places on earth….Walmart.  I had some cooking to do, so I got home quickly and got busy.  The kiddos were still at my parent’s house so it was nice to have a little bit of quiet and I was actually able to get a lot done.  It’s not everyday that I can say that lately.

Steve picked up Ryann and Grant from my parent’s after lunch and drove Ryann to the drop off location we have arranged with her dad.  It was his weekend to have her and although I was bummed out she would miss the festivities we had planned, I was glad she would only be gone for a couple of days.

That evening, we headed out to the Kaylor’s house for some food and fun.  It was nice getting to hang out withIMG_1162 friends, although a large portion of the evening I ended up trying to settle Chyler because all of the activity was a little bit much for her.  She seems to get overwhelmed with there’s a lot going on and gets really fussy.  I’m thinking she’s going to be my homebody child….which is perfect because I don’t have one of those!  And this mommy is definitely a homebody.  😀

Friday was also an exciting day because my Young Living Essential Oils order arrived!!!  Yay!!  I’m excited to learn more about using oils as a more natural alternative to medicines.  There’s SO MUCH INFORMATION that it’s going to take me a while, I’m sure.  But I’m looking forward to discovering all of the ways that oils can be used.

Saturday was a “lazy” day at home for us.  I was able to get some more cleaning done and Steve mowed the lawn…..but other than that we just kind of hung out.  It’s nice to be able to do that every now and then.

So, that’s it for our week!  Those seven days seemed to just fly right on by…..and now we’re on to the next week.  And this one is going to be just as busy.  Ryann has a birthday coming up at the end of the week and there’s always the normal “errands” to take care of.  I’m going to try to get us to the library this week as well.  We will see how that goes!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful fun-filled summer!

Be well,
Melony
