Originally when I started this blog, my intention was to share money saving tips, frugal living ideas, and organizational tidbits. Because quite frankly, that’s what I know. So, I thought it might be appropriate to share a rough schedule of what to expect here on the blog. Mondays will more than likely be my cooking day here at the house, so likewise, Monday is the day that I’ll share recipes, cooking tips, and whatnot. Tuesday is grocery shopping day, so on Tuesdays I’ll share my successes and failures at the grocery store. Thursday will be organizing day. Friday I will be sharing the upcoming deals to be found at the drustores (CVS & Walgreens). And Sunday will be “a peek into our week”. Sundays tend to be pretty laid back around here. We go to church, come home, have lunch, and lay around for a good part of the afternoon. So, on Sunday I’ll share pics of what we have been up to the previous week.
Along the way I’ll most likely be throwing in random information just for fun. I like to mix it up a bit….heehee.
So, since today is Monday, I thought I’d share a recipe with you. I found this recipe on Pinterest. To be honest, 99% of the ideas that I “have” are either inspired by something I found on Pinterest or outright copied from someone else on Pinterest. However, I do believe that it’s important to give full credit to the individuals who came up with the ideas originally, and so I’ll always link directly back to their page for you. We must give credit where credit is due. I’m not nearly creative enough to come up with the majority of these ideas.
Today, my recipe is actually not for food. It’s for homemade laundry soap. I’ve never made laundry soap in the past, but I decided a couple of months ago that I was going to give it a try. I felt certain that it would be less expensive that anything I could pick up in the stores, even with a coupon and a sale. So, I made this recipe today. I’ve only washed one load of laundry with it thus far. But I have to say that my clothes came out looking, smelling, and feeling clean. So, I’m sold. It was also super easy to make and only took about 10 minutes or less. I would encourage anyone looking to save a little extra dough to try this out. The fun part is that you can use any kind of soap that you like. So, you could even buy a really nice bar of soap and have your laundry smell extra nice. I love Yardley’s bar soaps…..unfortunately I was out of them today so I had to use a substitute. But I’ll definitely be trying that out in the future.
Hope you enjoy! And just for fun. How gorgeous would this be in your laundry room holding your homemade laundry soap?? I’m totally going to do this! 😀
Have a wonderful day!
Melony
